External Counter Pulsation

ECP is an alternative treatment that may help relieve symptoms of angina when bypass surgery and angioplasty are not an option.

ECP is a safe and noninvasive procedure that can provide relief of chest pain and increase the ability to perform normal daily activities.

During ECP therapy air pressure cuffs attached to the legs inflate and deflate in coordination with the heartbeats. This increases the blood flow through the arteries that supply oxygen to the heart muscle and may stimulate the growth of new, or collateral, blood vessels.
